Yesterday was school picture day for Austin and Karsen. I will post the picture of them that I took before they left so that if they got messy hair and faces on the playground by picture time, I will remember my good intentions.
Karsen has been learning about colors in school. Tomorrow they have to bring their favorite book with a color in the title to school. She has chosen "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" Thursday is human rainbow day, where they will all wear their favorite colors. Friday they will make a rainbow out of fruit and vegetables (all the kids will bring their favorite colorful healthy food).
Austin is still doing well in school and soccer. He had a scary moment during soccer practice tonight when he was goalie and got his poor head caught under a pile of people. He was very brave, though, but when he came over for his water break he had tears in his eyes. He didn't want his team to see him cry though so he played right through it and by the end of practice he was his usual smiley self. We've really noticed how responsible and mature he is getting these last few weeks. We are "having negotiations" about his Halloween costume, the one he wants is more than we want to pay, and he said, very maturely, "Maybe we can find a coupon for it so it's not so expensive." Ha! Grandma Back would be quite proud!
More pictures to come in a few days, both on the blog and in person...we have soccer pictures on Wednesday and Thursday evenings this week. The kids are looking forward to showing off their new uniforms.
