1st Grade End of Year Celebration at Westwood Park

Friday May 29: Austin's 1st grade class had their end of year celebration at Westwood Park.
Both Mrs Bell and Mrs Grieser's classes loaded up the buses full of supplies for activities and
a picnic. It was a great time, even Karsen and some of the other younger siblings got to join in.
They had water relays, a scavenger hunt, a hike, planted pots of flowers for their dads
for Father's Day, made visors with their names on them, and played hula hoop relays and bean bag toss. There was plenty of food at the picnic and lots of time for playing on the playground equipment. After lunch, Mrs Bell led the group in exercise so they could burn off those calories! Only one more day of first grade for Austin!

The Graduate

Karsen graduated from preschool on Monday night, May 18, 2009. What a big deal!
Austin first had a game, and Grandma and Papaw Beneker, Papaw Jay, and auntie Erin and uncle Ken all came down to watch him play. When that was over, it was off to Bundy for the graduation ceremony.
Grandma Hall, Keith, Amy, and Luke all were able to see Karsen march.
Our much loved Papaw Purvis was very sick in the hospital that morning, but
Karsen got to make a trip to his room to say a special goodbye, as he went to heaven the very next morning on May 19, 2009.
Some pictures of the graduate in her cap and gown. Her two teachers, Miss Connie, and Miss Nici, were wonderful and we will miss them but Karsen is ready to move on from the YMCA preschool to Westwood.
