Wow! It is chilly out today. Austin isn't thrilled because he likes to wear "muscle shirts" but we had to break out the jeans and fall jackets today.

Cooper had his yearly checkup yesterday and got his shots. He is a healthy 29 lbs. Okay, so the diet is not working. Josh said that the vet said we should feed him twice a day and only leave the food out for 10 minutes. In theory, he will only eat what he needs during that time and the rest of the time, if there is food in the bowl and accessible, he is only snacking. I am pretty sure my mom would not agree with this rigid feeding schedule for one of her grand-dogs, but it is what we will try.

In other news, we had Cub Scouts last night in which the 2nd year and older boys got to teach the first year boys what the meanings were behind the sign, pledge, motto, handshake, etc. Austin really enjoyed the leadership role.
The "emergency" of the day occurred about 8:15 this morning. I got a phone call and heard Austin's voice on the other end saying, "Hi mom, I kind of have an emergency." After my heart dropped to the floor, I asked what was wrong. He said that they changed the lunch menu and were NOT having hot dogs as planned today, and because of this could I please bring him a lunch? So when I picked up Karsen from school, I delivered it, and Austin thanked me profusely for "saving him."

Karsen has spent most of her day after school playing "Elefun" in which butterflies blow out of a toy elephant's nose and you try to catch them with your butterfly net. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I will go help Miss Beth in the classroom. They are learning "Pp" this week, so tomorrow each child should bring a puzzle from home and I will be helping with the puzzle day. On Friday they will have a Potluck with the Principal. We have to bring a food that starts with the letter P and Mr Carter, the principal, will come talk about his Personality.
Tonight we have soccer games, I wish I had a Snuggie for such events. I would not want to embarrass my husband or children, though, so I'll just wear a jacket.

And last, a picture of the flowers Josh picked me from Karsen's flower garden while I was sleeping after work yesterday.
Do you really want a snuggie? Im sure we could arrange it...sounds like an even trade (Luke-jersey, Kelly-snuggie)HAHA
ReplyDeleteLuke loves Brett! He thanks him for saving the Vikings already this season.
ReplyDeleteOh my, poor Cooper. He has quite the surprise diet coming his way. :)
ReplyDeleteAustin's 'emergency' is hilarious. Thank goodness he has a mother willing to save him from such emergencies. :)
