Today we went to Ivanhoe's to meet Amy and Luke, Erin, Megan, Maria, Max and Meryl. For those who don't know, it is a little diner in Upland with the most varieties of ice cream and milkshakes most of us have ever seen.
Some eventful happenings from Ivanhoe's included Austin announcing that he was in charge of the children's table (since he is so adult, according to him), Meryl attempting to initiate a food fight by throwing a wadded up napkin at the boys, Austin being told NOT TO DARE throw the tater tot which was about to be hurled at Meryl using all of his Little League learned skills, Max and Austin being allowed to go in the restroom under close supervision (outside the men's room door) but unfortunately Max was "not tall enough" to wash his hands, Luke cheesing for the camera, Austin eating only vanilla soft serve out of the 100's of ice cream choices, all of the children learning Austin's baseball game cheers and chants (Let's get fired up, burnin' baby, burnin' up, and yes, I did hear this over and over from Upland to Anderson, as did many of the cars we passed on I69), and Meryl practicing HER pitching skills with rocks in the parking lot toward certain other people's vehicles in the parking lot. A good time was had by all, I'd say.
Also, for those who don't know how advanced my nephew Luke is, well, he is, at age 1, putting his own shoes on. I think.
When we returned home, there was another surprise: the kids jerseys for soccer camp (in July) had come in the mail, so of course there was much excitement trying them on.
